A sample of the proposed fabric measuring at least 150mm x 150mm, sent to our Customer Services team.
Confirmation of the fabric pattern repeat length. This information will help us calculate the total amount of fabric needed for the project.
A valid Fire Test Certificate* for the fabric, and compliance with the Martindale rub test for General Domestic fabrics (minimum 18,000 rubs).
Where a fabric is made up of at least 75% by weight of cotton, flax, viscose, modal, silk, or wool (either individually or in combination), and does not have a polyurethane coating or polyurethane-based treatment, it may be supplied in a non-match-resistant form. This is only acceptable where the furniture includes, or is intended to include, a fire-resistant interliner (fire barrier) that complies with the requirements set out in Schedule 3 of the Regulations.
It should also be recognised that furniture using these cover fabrics must still successfully meet the relevant cigarette composite test requirements.
The use of a Schedule 3 compliant interliner (fire barrier) is limited specifically to fabrics containing a minimum of 75% by weight of cotton, flax, viscose, modal, silk, or wool (used alone or in combination), provided they are not coated with polyurethane or a polyurethane preparation.
An interliner meeting Schedule 3 requirements cannot be relied upon as a route to compliance for fabrics that fail cigarette and match testing requirements, such as fabrics with a high synthetic fibre content or those made entirely from polyester.
